June 15th and it hits 100

I got nothing tonight

But the summer heat

No feeling

But pavement burning

My feet

Only the ache

No

Deceit

Flesh singed

Like Meat

The Bear Went Over The Mountain

The bear went over the mountain

To see what he could see

And all that he could see

Was the other side of the mountain

Was all that he could see

So the bear took a long slow moment

Atop that lonely mountain

He thought of all his wanderings

Where all his winters brought him

This mountain was a mountain where

Maybe his moments could have meaning

If the bear he so allowed

The next mountain might have something

That from the bear was hidden

A sacred secret knowledge

The bear would finally make his own

His paws dug in the dirt and dust

His fur felt the warmth and sun

His bones they came to realize

The mountain knew the same things

As the next did and the one before

There were mountains to be found

By stillness and not by climbing

By the staying and not the roaming

The bear went to the top of the mountain

The bear called the mountain home

The bear climbed to the top of the mountain

The bear became of where he sat

The bear became the mountain

Together they both grew

Into another mountain

For another bear to find

Internet Hype Train

Internet hype train

Runs all night

Ignore any pain

Next new thing will get you right

Yelp it at 5 stars

So so good

Cell service is five bars

Instagram posts fast knock on wood!

Don’t stop to think

Engine don’t run on calm

Craft cocktails to drink

Handmade booze balm

Walk past the bathroom mirror

Glance, but don’t slow down

Hey did you hear her?

Next door is the hot place in town

Latest and greatest!

Wait what was that?

Latest and greatest!

Where you at?

Be there next

Leaving here quick

Got to stay in motion

Or I feel a little sick

Wake up tomorrow

Do it again

Don’t feel the sorrow

Ignore the shackles and chain

I Was Here For a Time

I was here for a time

The worlds rages repeated

On this earth for a time

All our dark themes repeated

In quiet moments of grace

These hard truths receded

I was left with that

Which glows in my mind

The passions I have felt

The ties that bind

The love that turns the third eye

To seeing from blind

The war and stuggle can rage around me

The tolls and losses can mount

I will hold the suffering I see

Equally with joys my mind can count

An Ancient Ruthless Language

I do not want to be bitter in the end

DNA is an ancient ruthless language

That which is encoded to be aware

Is encoded to decay

Awareness an advantage

An evolution

Sometimes a difficulty

As the world spins

Bitterness would indicate regret

Which is purchased

And is sustained

By the illusion

That self-determination guided us

Yet the options we have

Are small, but meaningful

Such as the choice of bitterness

About the fate we are dealt

Or

Acceptance of that which blocks our path

And shall never move

To find meaning in stillness

To find peace the inevitable

9 Dollar Poem

I sold a poem for 9 dollars

Then bought sea monkeys

With the funds

Art, commerce, and life’s miracles

Existing together as one

Bucket List

What I am doing is enough for me
Because it has to be enough for me
Has to have been enough for me
Without a list made out for me

You Might Find Yourself a Fraud

Perhaps you might feel yourself a fraud

On occasion this might be true

Know all human’s are flawed

That is not the sum of you

Winter Feels Like Scorn

Winter feels like scorn

Spring a distant legend

By the fire I shall warm

Until brighter suns do beckon

If none come

It’s the end I reckon

Shopping at the Goodwill

At the Goodwill among the used and worn

Buying a footrest made before I was born

It will be my treasure despite others scorn
